Our Creation Art of Chardonnay 2023 is a limited-release, barrel-selected wine from a specific pocket within a single vineyard. Each bottle is individually numbered (only 6520 bottles in 2023), offering exclusivity and collectability.
Located on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, Creation’s elevation, proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, cool night index (diurnal fluctuation of 12°C) and early morning cloud cover make it possible for grapes to ripen slowly, resulting in wines with remarkable freshness and finesse. In our Chardonnay vineyard, at 260 metres above sea level, seams of 590-million-year-old quartz sparkle through the clay-loam soils of 450-million-year-old Bokkeveld Shale. These growing conditions create wines with steely tension as well as elegance and finesse.

Intensely dark in colour – almost black; the rim a halo in shades of fuchsia. A stirring introduction of piquant pepper and rich cassis is followed by muted notes of cinnamon and clove, underscored by echoes of fragrant rose petal. Sensual and sleek and velvety palate where generous maraschino cherry and sun-dried peach harmonise with the savoury black olive and lingering spice to offer a wine of great complexity. Sheer Syrah, proudly reflecting its provenance.
